The discus fish belongs to the genus of cichlids, originally comes from the Amazon region in South America and is also often referred to as the "king of freshwater aquaristics". It comes as wild caught, Asian offspring, or German offspring.
Our STENDKER discus fish can live up to 15 years, reach a size of up to 21 centimeters and are considered fully grown at the age of 2-2 ½ years. The discus fish loves the sociability of its conspecifics (cichlid behavior) and should therefore be kept either in pairs (however, the pair should already be at least 14 centimeters in size) or in a group of at least ten animals.
Its natural habitat consists of sandy soil and roots, under which it likes to hide in a group. The discus fish also feels very comfortable in a planted aquarium (it often has a nicer habitat there than in the wild).
Our STENDKER discus fish are used to German tap water, are easy to keep and can therefore no longer be compared with the wild-caught fish. With our STENDKER discus fish, it is also possible for aquarium beginners to keep discus fish successfully! We offer our German discus offspring as STENDKER discus fish in various sizes (5-20 cm) and in 21
different color shades.

The discus fish is considered a food specialist. Feeding discus fish is extensive, healthy and very easy with our own feed mixture, which you can also purchase as STENDKER discus frozen food in retail stores. Our discus feed is ideally suited as a complete feed and is also fed exclusively to our discus fish in the breeding farm.
This good and balanced feed mixture contributes significantly to maintaining the health, colourfulness, reproduction and growth of the discus fish.
